Hi and Gíday. Welcome to ARKHOUSE pet portraits.
My name is Margaret Grant and I am a professional artist who has enjoyed a life long love affair with art, especially portraiture and most especially pet portraiture. I canít remember a time when I havenít been driven to paint, draw and sculpt.
On graduating after 5 years of formal studies in Fine Arts at East Sydney Technical College, I concentrated on portraiture, raising a family and building a career.
My many works include book illustration, cartooning, figurines, pottery, commercial graphics for advertising promotions, private corporate and government commissions and have been featured in media and The Australian National Gallery in Canberra, The National Gallery of Victoria and for several years in the Portia Geach Portrait Competition in Sydney, the Drummoyne Art Show (winning 1st Prize in 1986), a highly commended at the Royal Easter Show (Sydney) and exhibited in various mixed media exhibitions.
My wildlife marsupial and reptile designs were cast in metal alloy and incorporated into furniture for the 2000 Sydney Olympics at the Olympic Aquatic Centre complex at Homebush Bay.
I worked as a designer cake artist for many years, eventually establishing with partners, a cake art business, Planet Cake, in Balmain NSW, which I have since sold in order to concentrate on my real love, which is pet portraiture.
I have produced artwork in diverse forms for all manner of clients both in Australia and internationally and have been commissioned by Royalty, celebrities and, even the next door neighbours.
However, my most satisfying work has always been to draw my own and other peoples pets and I have created ARKHOUSE to concentrate on that.
I know you want, as I do, a special and personal work to celebrate your pets life, love and unique personality and seek a guarantee of my professionalism. The best way that I can give you that guarantee is to now invite you to browse the ARKHOUSE web site where I am very happy to let my pictures speak for me.
